Safe Ports CEO, Lucy Duncan, addressed the Export Leadership Academy training program sponsored by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce on November 2, 2017.
The Export Leadership Academy is a new, year-long export training program initiated by the U.S. Commercial Service in South Carolina to provide in-depth training in and understanding of the entire export process through exposure to professionals from the private sector, government agencies, service providers, and academics; hands-on exercises on export technical aspects, case studies, and field trips. This exclusive training program is targeted to business development and general management staff who plan to grow their export sales become more competitive in the international arena.
Ms. Duncan’s presentation was part of the final class in the program focused on Beyond Exporting in which businesses explored the topics of JVs, Licensing, and Partnerships, as well as Trade Show Exhibiting and Foreign Government Procurement opportunities (i.e., Canada). Ms. Duncan provided participants with an in depth look into the Safe Ports Regional Gateway in Jordan as a case study for public-private partnerships on an international platform.
