About Safe Ports
Safe Ports is a Woman‐owned Small Business, providing project management, security services,
technology development and implementation, risk assessments, inter‐modal port design and
development, transportation management, warehousing, mil‐spec packaging and logistics
support.
Safe Ports has worked in emerging markets. The company was founded in 1992 as Diplomatic
Resolutions, Inc. (DRI), working with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and others to
design, plan, implement and evaluate turnkey, large scale, mission critical technology projects in
large emerging markets including Russia, China, Brazil, India, Egypt and Jordan.
Post 9/11, DRI changed its name to Safe Ports and, like many technology led companies,
identified areas to support the US government in the Global War on Terror. Safe Ports focused
on finding innovative security solutions for shipping and seaports in the Middle East, Mexico and
Panama, becoming a senior advisor to the Arab League of Ports on ISPS security protocols and
implementation.
In 2005 Safe Ports moved its headquarters from Washington, DC to Charleston, SC to perform
site inspection, master planning and development of a major inland port, designed to be served
by highway and rail and the ports of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and
Florida. Safe Ports sold the project to the Jebel Ali Free Zone of Dubai in 2007. Later that year,
the company opened a secure military spec warehouse, distribution and packaging facility to
provide rapid response support for MRAP vehicles’ integrated logistics. Safe Ports has provided
24/7 service to Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan from its North Charleston, SC facilities. The
company has received numerous accolades from the Defense Logistics Agency for
“unprecedented support”.
Safe Ports is currently engaged in security and logistics centric projects in the United States and
throughout Southwest Asia providing services to the Warfighter to support cargo transportation
security, base operations, reposturing logistics and fixed facility physical security programs.
