Three Executive
Appointments at Safe
Ports
Security and Logistics
Operations Strengthened
Charleston, SC January 17, 2008
-- Safe Ports, the security and
logistics division of CaroLinks
announced today three new
executive appointments
strengthening the security and
logistics operations of the
company.
Joseph “Joe” Dorsey has been
appointed Vice President and
Chief Technology Officer of Safe
Ports. From 2003 to 2006, Mr.
Dorsey served as Chief
Technology Officer (CTO) of
Westech Interactive Security (formerly
Sparta Solutions,) transitioning
a group of high-technology start-ups
into a market leader in remote
interactive security products
and marketing services. From
2001 to 2003, he was Director of
Technical Programs and Services
for L-3 Communications APCOM,
Inc. From 2000 to 2001 he was
the Manager of Information
Technology for BAE Systems
directing a technical staff of
40 engineers.
He holds a PSE from Carnegie-Mellon
University, an MS in Computer
Science from John Hopkins, and a
BS in Electrical Engineering
from Capitol Institute of
Technology.
Jamie A. Damsker has been
appointed Vice President of
Strategic Planning and Business
Development. From 2003 to 2007,
Mr. Damsker was an Associate of
Booz Allen Hamilton, leading the
firm’s local homeland security
practice and task execution with
Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Center Charleston (SPAWAR) and
for federal clients at the
Department of Homeland Security.
He had a distinguished career in
the United States Air Force from
1988-2000, concluding as F.15E
Flight Commander with the 494th
Fighter Squadron, RAF Lakenheath,
United Kingdom. He has combat
experience in the Balkans and
his military awards include the
Distinguished Flying Cross and
multiple air medals.
Mr. Damsker has a BA in
Mathematics from The Citadel. He
is an active member of the local
business community and has held
positions as a member of the
ThinkTEC advisory board and the
Business Continuity Planning
Council with the Charleston
Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Michael Staab has been appointed
Director of Logistics
Technologies. He has over 14
years experience leading large-scale
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
implementations primarily using
Oracle Software in distribution
and manufacturing environments.
He is a Project Management
Professional (PMP) with previous
experience as a solutions
architect with SRA Spectrum
Solutions Group. Mr.Staab has
completed accreditation as an
Oracle implementation champion.
Prior to this, he managed
information strategy and client
and communications resources for
L-3 Communications. Mr. Staab is
a graduate of Penn State
University with a BS degree in
Industrial and Management
Engineering.
